Pea gravel is the smallest gravel we carry. It consists of small, smooth, rounded stones that are about the size of a pea – typically 1/8″ to 3/8″ in diameter. Pea gravel comes in shades of beige, gray, and brown and can feel soft to walk on. Since pea gravel is soft to step on, it’s a popular choice for areas that require comfort as well as visual appeal, like playgrounds and walkways.
Applications:
Playgrounds: Pea gravel doesn’t have jagged, sharp edges, it is commonly used in playgrounds due to its smooth, soft texture, which provides added safety for children.
Driveways & Walkways: Excellent for paths or driveways, offering a low-maintenance surface.
Mulch Alternative & Filler: Used as a mulch alternative or filler in garden beds, between pavers, and around trees to help with weed control and moisture retention.
