What we love about Richmond
We’re big fans of the Fort Bend Museum, home to the historic John and Lottie Moore mansion and the Long-Smith Cottage. The museum grounds house an exhibit gallery with an interesting collection of artifacts from the San Jacinto Battleground. The collection also includes the hatchet that once belonged to Carrie Nation, a leader of the temperance movement. The notorious Nation is well-remembered for taking temperance to the extreme, wielding her hatchet against liquor-serving establishments!
Fortunately for us, times have changed. The Museum also hosts the popular Sunset Music Series where visitors are welcome to bring their lawn chairs and picnic baskets and enjoy a music-filled and spirits-friendly happy hour on the lawn.
